Global Panchang is a free daily Hindu panchang for any city in the world, made for families who live far from India and want their tithi, Rahu Kalam, festivals and muhurtams to be right for where they live.

Why we built it

Most panchangams are printed for India. For a family in Dallas, London or Sydney, the sunrise is different, so the tithi at sunrise can be different, and festivals such as Naraka Chaturdashi or an Ekadashi fast can fall on another day. Many of us used to phone a priest or a relative in India to ask. Global Panchang works it out for your own city, in English, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

What you will find

Today: tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana, sunrise and sunset, Rahu Kalam, Yamaganda, Gulika, Durmuhurtam, Varjyam, Brahma Muhurta, Abhijit and lagna, all for your city.
Festivals and vrats: Ekadashi with parana time, Pradosham, Sankashti with moonrise, Pournami, Amavasya and festivals, with the India date shown when it differs.
My Day and Muhurtam: a personal reading by janma nakshatra, and dates for family events. Always confirm muhurtams with your priest.
Abdikam, eclipses and reminders: the yearly shraddha date, eclipse times and sutak where they are visible, and reminders in your phone's calendar.

Our principles

Classical rules only. We follow the panchang and the traditional rules for each observance; no lucky colours, numbers or horoscopes.
Your city, your sunrise. Every time is calculated for where you are, on your own device.
Private by design. No account required. Your people, nakshatras and settings stay on your phone unless you choose to sign in to sync them across your devices. We count visits anonymously (Umami): no cookies, nothing personal, never sold. Privacy policy.
Free. No sign-up needed and no ads.
Reviewed with care. Rules and wording are reviewed with traditional Telugu priests and astrologers, and the results are cross-checked against leading published panchangams. Family and temple traditions vary, so for important ceremonies please confirm with your priest.

Our story

Global Panchang began with the blessings of God.

It was inspired since childhood by my uncle, Sri Ponnala Karunakara Reddy: astrologer, Vaastu Siddhanti, Adhyatmikavetta and an ardent disciple of Lord Sri Venkateswara. More recently it has been guided by Sri Komanduri Seshadri (Seshadri Swamy) of Hindu Purohith.

It is built by Kulasekhar Mittapalli, originally from Tirupati and now living in the USA, for families like ours who live far from home.

How it is calculated

Sunrise and sunset use the NOAA solar formulas; tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and planet positions use the open-source Astronomy Engine with the Lahiri ayanamsa, which is tested against NASA JPL Horizons to within one arcminute. Read how we calculate and see our accuracy checks.
